As part of the Intercon Singular Projects initiative, today we are recovering a much-loved project. This is an upgrade from an existing boutique hotel in Fontainebleau, 45 minutes south of Paris. A complete restoration of the historic building was carried out, with parts of the 17th century maximizing original features such as wooden beams to preserve the historic charm of the site.
The aim of the brief was to give the hotel a contemporary and distinguished style with 20 rooms, 7 themed suites, as well as a Michelin-starred restaurant and a banquet hall. Themed rooms and dresses have a sober, timeless feel that enhances the idea of a romantic getaway. The wood has a strong presence again and together with a soft color palette it manages to achieve a warm atmosphere. The choice of furniture is elegant, refined and contemporary. The bathrooms are also very decorated and have a transparent and playful element. The restaurant highlights the restored wooden elements, and the lighting plays a key role in providing a luxurious setting for gourmet-oriented guests and diners.
